Lascia ch"io pianga"는 헨델의 `리날도" 2막에서 여주인공 알미레나에 의해 불려지는 아리아로 십자군전쟁을 배경으로 한 영웅 리날도와 상관의 딸 알미레나와 적군의 여왕 아르미다가 삼각관계로 어우러집니다. 산의 요새에서 아르미다의 포로가 된 알미레나가 자신의 운명을 탄식하며 풀려 나기를 기원하는 비탄의 노래입니다.
